Colossians 3:14-15
NKJV—But above all these things put on
love, which is the bond of perfection. And
let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to
which also you were called in one body;
and be thankful.

NIV—And over all these virtues put on
love, which binds them all together in perfect
unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in
your hearts, since as members of one body
you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Amp—And above all these [put on] love
and enfold yourselves with the bond of
perfectness—which binds everything together
completely in ideal harmony. And
let the peace (soul harmony which comes)
from the Christ rule (act as umpire continually)
in your hearts—deciding and settling
with finality all questions that arise
in your minds—[in that peaceful state]
to which [as members of Christ’s] one
body you were also called [to live]. And
be thankful—appreciative, giving praise to
God always.

Weymouth—And over all these put on
love, which is the perfect bond of union;
and let the peace which Christ gives settle
all questionings in your hearts, to which
peace indeed you were called as belonging
to His one body; and be thankful.

Hebrews 13:4

KJV—Marriage is honourable in all, and
the bed undefiled.

NIV—Marriage should be honored by all,
and the marriage bed kept pure.

Amp—Let marriage be held in honor—esteemed
worthy, precious, [that is,] of
great price and especially dear—in all
things. And thus let the marriage bed be
(kept undishonored,) undefiled.

Weymouth—Let marriage be held in
honor among all, and let the marriage bed
be unpolluted.

1 Peter 3:8-9

NKJV—Finally, all of you be of one mind,
having compassion for one another; love
as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
not returning evil for evil or reviling
for reviling, but on the contrary blessing,
knowing that you were called to this, that
you may inherit a blessing.

Amp—Finally, all [of you] should be of one
and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing
[with one another], loving [each
the others] as brethren (of one household),
compassionate and courteous—tenderhearted
and humble-minded. Never return
evil for evil or insult for insult—scolding,
tongue-lashing, berating; but on the contrary
blessing—praying for their welfare,
happiness and protection, and truly pitying
and loving them. For know that to this you
have been called, that you may yourselves
inherit a blessing [from God]—obtain a
blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness
and protection.

Weymouth—In conclusion, all of you
should be harmonious, sympathetic, kind
to the brethren, tender-hearted, lowlyminded,
not requiting evil with evil nor
abuse with abuse, but, on the contrary, giving
a blessing, because a blessing is what
you have been called by God to inherit.
